A Personal Connection

Honouring their quiet place

Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Having shared my home with dogs throughout the years, I understand the special bond we have with our pets and how much they become part of our families.

As an artist, what inspires me most is capturing the personality behind the eyes. Every animal has its own unique character, whether it's a playful spark, a gentle soul or a knowing look that only those who love them truly recognise. My aim is not simply to create a likeness, but to preserve the spirit, warmth and individuality that make your companion so special.

Each portrait is created with care, patience and a genuine love of animals, resulting in a piece of artwork that celebrates the friend you know and love.

The Ayrshire Studio

Where tactile art begins

Tucked away on the beautiful Ayrshire coast, my studio is a place of quiet focus. Here, under natural daylight, reference photographs are translated into physical, textured portraits.

There are no digital shortcuts or synthetic filters here. Every portrait is built stroke by stroke, layer by layer, in a space dedicated entirely to the traditional craft of soft pastel painting.

Surrounded by the landscapes and wildlife that inspire much of my work, each portrait is created slowly and thoughtfully. Layer by layer, I focus on capturing not only the detail of your pet's appearance, but also the expression, character and little spark that makes them uniquely theirs.
